Workshops with Kurogami & Shiawase

Description and Content of the workshops

The workshops follow the developed curriculum of Kurogami & Shiawase. You can find details about their didactic model on their website.

In this workshop, you will learn one of the most iconic ties in semenawa: the gote.

We will study the gote in the style of Kinbaku LuXuria, focusing on how to build a solid structure, optimize its use in our bondage, using it as a starting point for a kinbaku session.
You will learn how to handle the body in a tie with two suspension lines and we will explore the first iconic figures of the style, addressing both technical aspects and the sensations that can be conveyed when tying your partner.

This course also introduces you to a more traditional style, guiding you through the most iconic ties of the style while gradually approaching suspensions and progressions.
Through basic kata, you will learn how to safely introduce torment in suspensions while beginning to develop an eye for the aesthetics of a tie.

Kinbaku reveals what we hold inside. Semenawa is about endurance, deep emotions, and facing our shadows. This workshop explores torment beyond pain, focusing on its psychological and aesthetic impact in rope. We will examine how the process matters more than the final shape, and how torment can create beauty.
Designed for experienced couples in semenawa, the workshop requires proficiency in Kinbaku LuXuria’s Class #1 or equivalent. Participants will refine gote suspensions, stress applications, and emotional depth in tying.
This workshop offers a deep dive into the darker, more intense side of kinbaku.

A class for people who master the elements studied in Class #1, a class for intermediate people. Both tops and bottoms will find it very challenging and it will complete the study on the technical skills in semenawa, while a great importance will be given to aesthetics and free style: in this workshop you will be starting creating your style! Armbinder, transitions, advanced progression will be taught.
We will complete the skill set that any rigger has to acquire to tie in this style, but we will also work on aesthetics and advanced communication through advanced ties.

Some of the ties will contain important elements, such as transitions, body handling and manipulation and drills that will boost efficiency. Some other ties will offer enough room for improvisation – we will start from a concept, the demo will offer a common starting point, then we leave the students free to interpret that concept.

We will go deeper in the spirit of Japanese semenawa. Very important topics such as the beauty of suffering, tradition, legacy and heritage will be covered – as our style is not just about shapes, and the context really matters to understand what our style is about.

The workshops will cover:

  • 3-ropes gote and variations – as adapted by Wildties from Naka-ryu to improve safety without losing the spirit
  • Advanced suspensions of the style, as per Kurogami’s interpretation
  • Transitions and body handling & manipulation
  • 2-ropes armbinder for suspension
  • Traditional Japanese style aesthetics
  • Communication through ropes.

This workshop delves into the darker, personal side of kinbaku, exploring how aesthetics shape mood and intensity in rope. Building on Shadow, it focuses on freestyle, advanced suspensions, and deep emotional connection. This is a hands-on journey into Kinbaku’s depth.
🔹 Explore: The evolution of Kinbaku LuXuria, mood-driven tying, and improvisation.
🔹 For: Experienced tops (3-rope gote, suspensions) & bottoms (long suspensions, TK/gote).
🔹 Practical: 15 jute/hemp ropes

Comfortable/sporty clothing is recommended. Especially for those being tied, loose or bulky clothing is not advised.
As a part of this style, we learn about shaping the clothing during and with our bondage. If you want to practice this, we advise to bring blouses, wrap dresses, wrap skirts or other garments, that allow for exposing the body as well as shaping and highlighting the silhouette of the body. Please note that loose strings, large bows, snaps, laces and long and bulky dresses can interfere with the tying process and lead to frustration.

Additionally to the Nawaland rules, the following photo & video policy applies:
Taking photos during exercise demos is allowed, but recording videos or audio is not permitted. Taking photos of your partner during exercises is allowed, respecting the privacy of other participants.

Style

The workshops are inspired by the style of Kinbaku LuXuria by Riccardo Sergnese (Wildties), ichi-ban deshii of Naka Akira. The style directly descends from Naka-Ryu (Akira Naka’s style) and is a carefully reengineered, preserving the original and traditional spirit of Naka-san’s style while introducing technical innovations suitable for European culture and physique, with a particular emphasis on safety.

In close contact with Riccardo Wildties and proudly being a student of him and RedSabbath, Kurogami has developed his personal style that reflects his personality and unique connection with his partner. Tailored on Shiawase, his style combines eroticism, strictness, care, and dedication.

Educators

Together since 2014, in September 2016, they began dedicating themselves to the study of kinbaku. In November of the same year, they attended their first course led by Riccardo. This encounter marked the beginning of an ongoing journey, filled with in-depth exploration, inspiration, and continuous research.
In February 2018, Andrea became a certified educator in Kinbaku LuXuria, fully embracing the educational values of Wildties. Today is among the few people in Europe recognised by Riccardo to teach the style.
Throughout the years, Kurogami and Shiawase actively participated in various kinbaku events in Italy and several European cities. They engaged as participants in jams, attended advanced courses led by Riccardo as students, and served as performers and educators in dedicated events. In 2019, Kurogami and Shiawase had the honor of tying at the 25th Nawa Naka Kai in Tokyo, alongside Riccardo and Naka-san.
In July 2024, Kurogami and Shiawase opened Peony Studio in Turin (IT), where they organize workshops, jams, and various other events around Kinbaku. Learn more about them on their own website: Peonystudio
